Hello friends and loyal supporters,
Let's start by getting the dates for Peter's FUNd Racer on the calendar, so if I start boring you later in this e-mail, you can stop reading it. Our 14th annual event (unbelievable) is March 1st and 2nd, 2013, at Sugarbush resort in Warren, Vermont. Please keep an eye on our website for any possible changes (petersfundracer.com) but we expect the activities to be similar to previous years: Cocktails and registration at Claybrook on Friday night, and the race, lunch, dinner and dancing at Sugarbush South on Saturday.
We have now donated over $1mm to our charities, including $75k to The Cancer Patient Support Program, $75k to the Hope Lodges in Boston and Burlington Vermont, $150k for 'Peter's Healing Garden' at the Fletcher Allen Hospital, and over $575k to the Massachusetts General Hospital for melanoma research. Our website has the complete list of our charities and how much we have donated. Pretty amazing numbers generated by the best, small group of friends and family in the world.
After 13 years, it is time to raise the price of the best deal in town from $150/head to $200/head for adults. The $150 was just covering our costs for the meals, lift ticket, race, gifts, party, etc., and I know everyone wants to do their part to help us raise money for our very deserving charities. Most of our donations have been funded by our fantastic raffle and auction so I'm comfortable with it being time to raise the price of our basic weekend package and I am convinced that it still delivers great value.
OK, enough about donations and contributions. It is the holidays and I have so much to be thankful for. I hope, and trust, you do, too. I wish you the best the holiday season has to offer and I thank you for everything you have done for me and Peter's FUNd Racer.
