4.  Two Bottles of Grgich Hills Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1997 vintage  "94 points" - Wine & Spirits - April, 2001- "Grgich made a grand '97, a massive Cabernet from start to finish, still youthful and unevolved" (Robert Parker).  Blended along the lines of a classic Bordeaux this wine has a solid base of Cabernet Sauvignon and for the 1997 vintage, 10% Merlot was added along with 4% Cabernet Franc and a dash of Petit Verdot to create a finished wine with great complexity and pinpoint balance. This wine will continue to soften and become more interesting with bottle age. Serve with a leg of lamb, a prime cut of beef, or store it for a special occasion down the road.  Either way, this wine will stun you. $700
TOG
5.  America's first Petite Syrah.  A 3 liter bottle of the 2003, limited release, Concannon, autographed by the wine maker himself.  This wine exhibits a richness to the bouquet and a nose fairly intense of blackberries and green peppers. In the mouth this is wildly austere with a tight structure that needs time to breathe and time to age. It has plenty of thick tannins to age this wine for years it seems.  Please stop in to visit Joan at the Waitsfield Wine shop on your way into town.  On your right as you first enter Waitsfield.  A beautiful store and a generous supporter. $400
ES
